More than £1,000 raised for The Children's Society

Two fundraisers have raised a grand total of £1,059.10 - thanks to the generosity of parishioners at St Andrew's.

Our Lent Appeal - which this year raised money for arts and crafts activities at this year's Young Carers Festival in Hampshire - raised a record £700.91, smashing the previous record for a  St Andrew's fundraiser for The Children's Society by £165!

NWThen last Sunday, church-goers Rob and Glenda held a plant sale in aid of The Children's Society in the churchyard. The sunny weather helped and three tables of donated indoor and outdoor plants were soon snapped up - raising £328.19.

Partnership Lead Rob Needle said: "This is incredible, and thank you so much to everyone who goes to St Andrew's and who donated so generously.

"The Lent Appeal clearly caught the interest of the congregation, and they responded with great generosity. The challenge next year will be to find something as equally engaging!

"And I'd like to thank everyone who bought plants last Sunday, and especial thanks to husband and wife Rob and Glenda, for organising the plant sale from start to finish and for raising such an impressive amount. Thank you both once again - I hope we can do the same thing next year!"
