St Andrew's SingPlus
SingPlus is a venture to encourage and teach singing and more. Held weekly on Wednesdays from 3.45 pm–5.15 pm, SingPlus is free and aimed at children in Years 2-7 (ages 7-12).
We meet in the beautiful historic St Andrew's Church to sing and make music (including learning to use our wonderful set of handbells), explore the church, drawing its contents, and writing and telling stories. We have had quizzes about the graveyard, clambered into the organ with all its pipes and visited the Mill Field in Shelford, the inspiration for Tom's Midnight Garden.
Come and give it a try!
John Bryden, our Director of Music, leads the group, choir member Alice Barlow helps with singing and Francess Richardson helps with art activities.
John Bryden is an internationally acclaimed pianist and organist and an experienced teacher of young and old. His students include everyone from Cambridge organ scholars to local children. His enthusiasm is amazing - everyone loves learning music with him. His website is here.
Parents should contact John in advance if their children would like to give this a go: firstname.lastname@example.org or 07803 706847. We will need a completed and signed permission form, which can downloaded here.
