Friends of St Andrew's  

The Friends of St Andrew's Church, Stapleford, is a charity independent of the church which exists to help maintain the church building. It is supported by lots of people across the community of Stapleford and beyond - everyone who thinks it is important to maintain this beautiful historic building for the benefit of generations to come. 

The Friends is registered with the Charity Commission (No. 1048111) and run by a management committee who are also the trustees. It has its own bank account and, although the church is the only beneficiary of the charity, the funds can only be used for specific purposes in accordance with the rules of the charity and at the discretion of the trustees. The Friends is governed by its Annual General Meeting. The next one will be on Wednesday 18 November 2026 at 7 pm in St Andrew's Church, Mingle Lane, Stapleford. All paid-up or life members are entitled to attend. 

Between AGMs the Friends is managed by its trustees/management committee. More details below.

Joining the Friends or Renewing your Membership

Would you like to join the Friends and help maintain our wonderful church? We would love you to!

Membership of the Friends requires an annual donation of at least £5, but many members are extremely generous and pay substantially more. We are grateful for all donations!

The forms below can be used for either renewing your membership or joining for the first time. Become a member or renew membership by paying a subscription then filling in your contact details below. There are two ways to do this: 

1. If you are renewing your existing membership, there is an option to pay a one-off sum; you can do that, but it would be very helpful to us if you chose the annual or monthly payment options instead. It will reduce our admin quite a bit!
2. If you are joining as a Friend, please choose the annual or monthly payments option. It will make it much easier for us going forwards, and it remains very easy for you to cancel at any time!

In either case, please make sure we have your contact details - we have no other way of knowing who has renewed or joined up!

If you just want to make a one-off donation without joining, then we are very grateful for that too, but would be even more pleased if you have joined or do join at the same time.

Trustees

The management committee are also the trustees. The committee includes three ex officio members (the vicar and churchwardens of the church), six members elected at annual general meetings, who retire in rotation after three year terms of office (with a maximum of two consecutive terms) and co-opted members who serve until the next AGM. The Chair, Treasurer and Secretary are elected by the committee.
